Writing Samples

The writing sample links below are all from the last 10 years. During this time, my published work was almost exclusively content related to the legal industry. To mix things up a bit, I have also included an email intended for content writers at FindLaw and two short articles expanded from Toastmasters speeches I gave.

MCM Services Group went out of business in July 2019, and the website went down with it. This is the last iteration of the website before the company shuttered its doors. I was the sole writer of the website.

As the primary content writer assigned to this 2025 Hermes Gold award winning website, I wrote the home page and was involved in writing new content, working with a digital strategist to restructure the firm's existing site map and optimizing existing pages.

Judgment Day is a modified version of a Toastmasters speech I gave in 2019. To this day, I still have people argue with me about whether giving someone a compliment is criticizing them (it is).

I have to confess that I was disappointed when Kenneth Greene canceled his FindLaw subscription in early 2024. He is a great guy and I really enjoyed talking to him and writing copy for his home and about pages. While his current site isn't as bad as the standard WOPJL (Wix One Page Jump Link website), it does not do him justice.

This article is an expanded version of what began as a much shorter (and snarkier) movie review. I was surprised to find the making-of documentary on YouTube and even more surprised at how earnest everyone involved was. After watching the movie three times and learning the back story behind the film, I still can't decide whether or not I would recommend other people watch the movie.

At FindLaw, I was part of a team of writer coaches. It was our job to help writers who were struggling and get them back on track. We also took turns sending out weekly emails addressing common questions, changes to rules or processes and recurring errors that we were seeing. I was developing the following email when I got laid off.
